YOUR SIGNATURE CUSTOMER

Properly defining your Signature Customer is the first step in creating a strategic plan to achieve your sales objectives. Review the definitions below to pinpoint your customer’s current position and their potential to evolve to the next level.

CONQUEST

You have never done business with this customer, but they do react to your proposals and requests. They’ve listened to the John Deere Value Proposition and may be willing to start a relationship if they can be persuaded.

WHAT NOW?

Review the details of the Experience Deere Rental Program and Fleet and Machine Assurance plans. These are specifically targeted toward Conquest customers.

RETENTION

You have established a long-standing relationship with this customer. They trust you, and they know you’re working hard to help them succeed.

WHAT NOW?

Why not treat this loyal customer to an exciting week of golf at the John Deere Classic?

WEAK PENETRATION

This customer has done some or minimal business with you, but they are not fully connected or brand loyal to Deere. They still shop the competition, but there’s potential to increase business and build trust and influence.

WHAT NOW?

Review John Deere Financial options to entice the customer to try Deere equipment in other segments of their business. You could also invite the customer to learn more about Deere through a customized Fly-In or the Signature Customer Executive Experience.

ADVOCATE

At this stage, you and your customer have become partners. The customer believes in the value of the Deere enterprise, but will no longer receive Signature Customer discounts. They could possibly transition into a CBD account.

WHAT NOW?

It’s time to focus on another Conquest account.
